It is with deep sadness that we, the Bangladesh Institute of Governance and Management (BIGM), mourn the sudden and tragic passing of Professor Zia Rahman, esteemed dean of Dhaka University's social sciences faculty. His unexpected demise, attributed to a heart attack, has left us in shock and sorrow.

Throughout his three-decade-long teaching career, Professor Rahman's dedication to education and visionary leadership were evident. His founding of the criminology department stands as a testament to his innovative spirit. He was the man who made all-out efforts to introduce three new Master’s courses, namely Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Project Management, and Public and Private Financial Management, as the ex-officio trustee of BIGM.

We pray to Almighty Allah for divine peace of the departed soul and draw comfort from the lasting legacy he leaves behind.
