In abiding respect we mourn: Akbar Ali Khan (1944 --- 2022)

We, the members of BIGM family are deeply shocked and saddened to hear the news of sudden demise of Dr. Akbar Ali Khan who was one of the founders of this institute(erstwhile known as Civil Service College), one  of our Honorable Trustees and a Member of BIGM Governing Body. We shall always reminisce the warm and touching accounts of our interactions with him here, at BIGM.

In fact, our stock of adjectives and connotations are not suffice enough to cover his credentials. He was a veteran freedom fighter. A fearless, devoted and public welfare minded bureaucrat. A diligent researcher and successful writer. He became a unique personality in his own right. Emerged as the bold voice of conscience in the civil sphere. Bangladesh will miss a giant of his kind. Never shy of speaking up and never short of wisdom. He is a part of the liberation history of Bangladesh, he himself is a history who has greatly enriched the civil society of Bangladesh. The lamp he lit will go on illuminating our inspirational universe. We raise a salute in deep reverence, to accord him a sad fond farewell.

BIGM family prays to Almighty Allah to bless him in the Heavens and give strength to the members of the grieved family to bear the irreparable loss. Ameen!
