Sustainable Future Environmental Challenges and Climate Change


This course provides a comprehensive understanding of the key environmental challenges we face today, with a specific focus on climate change and its far-reaching impacts. Participants will explore the science, social, political, and economic dimensions of environmental issues and climate change, alongside potential solutions and strategies for mitigation and adaptation.

Participants will learn about the scientific basis of climate change, including greenhouse gases, climate systems, and the impacts of human activities on the environment. The course explores various environmental issues such as deforestation, pollution, biodiversity loss, water scarcity, and their interconnections with climate change. In the aspect of policy and governance, participants will able to examine the international agreements (like the Paris Agreement), national policies, and local governance structures aimed at addressing climate change and promoting sustainability.
In this course, knowledge will be shared on socio-economic implications especially, discussion of how climate change affects economies, social structures, and vulnerable populations, along with the concepts of climate justice and equity. Participants will have many more group works to explore the various strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions (mitigation) and adapting to the impacts of climate change (adaptation), including renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, conservation efforts, and urban planning as mitigation and adaptation strategies.

Participants will gain a clear understanding of environmental issues and climate change, along with practical knowledge to contribute to solutions in both their personal and professional lives.
