Bridging Policy and Interdisciplinary Research Towards a Sustainable Future

Bangladesh Institute of Governance and Management (BIGM), in line with its mission to be a leading source of knowledge for policy, governance, and development in Bangladesh, is proud to host its conference this year with the theme, "Bridging Policy and Interdisciplinary Research towards a Sustainable Future", which reflects BIGM's commitment to fostering innovative solutions for a more resilient and enduring world. BIGM aspires to equip public and private sector officials with the skills necessary to navigate the complexities of the 21st century. This includes addressing the multifaceted challenges of achieving a sustainable future, which requires a collaborative approach that integrates policy, interdisciplinary research, and a commitment to environmental, social, and economic well-being.

The conference title Bridging Policy and Interdisciplinary Research towards a Sustainable Future offers a detailed exploration of this vital interplay. It highlights how Policy serves as the guiding framework for action, shaping research agendas and incentivizing sustainable practices where, Interdisciplinary Research acts as the innovation engine, fostering innovative solutions to complex problems by combining diverse perspectives from ecology, economics, technology, and social sciences and ultimately a sustainable future which entails a collective effort to ensure present actions don't harm future generations, balancing economic growth, social equity, and environmental conservation.
