Dear Aspirant,

On behalf of Bangladesh Institute of Governance and Management (BIGM) I would like to welcome you and thank you for showing your interest in studying at this institution.

BIGM is a specialized institute that excels in academics, training and research, providing right kind of leadership and arts of management of global standard. Over the last twelve years, it has been conducting academic programs on Governance and Public Policy, Human Resource Management and International Economic Relations which resulted in gaining experience and expertise to lead the way forward. Recently BIGM has started offering Training Course on Policy Analysis for public and private sector officials financed by Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP) authority of Finance Division. And, very soon it will introduce three new Masters Programs in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Project Management, and Public and Private Financial Management.

Bangladesh is now at a crossroad of socio-economic development. In fact, we are witnessing one of the largest manufacturing led take off in a democracy. The economy is ready to reap the benefits of its comparative advantages including its demographic dividend. For that we need to transform our huge population into human capital. We need to upgrade the productivity of our both skilled and unskilled workforce, the capacity of both private and public sector industries. A competent management is simply indispensable for any sustained economic take-off.

BIGM intends to fill up higher level skill gaps by offering need based specialized academic/training programs of global standard. It also aims at conducting research in public administration and development, providing research based policy inputs. It provides a transformational experience to its students/trainees who are expected to maintain the highest standard of personal integrity, professional commitment and business/work ethics.

Students/trainees of BIGM originate from all sectors - public, private, NGOs and International Organization. And it provides a unique opportunity for them to achieve a sense of togetherness and professionalism by interacting with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences. This fosters a sense of belonging that will linger for long.
